In 2005 our team visited the ancestral home of Queen Anne Boleyn in Norfolk, in the time she was married to Britain’s King Henry VIII. We did a lot of research into the Tudor era (16th century) and the idea was born of introducing a third Collection of products – named The Royal Tudor Range. In this range of products, we decided to use plant extracts specific to the 16th century which were used in the bath, on the face and body. We could not find any recipes made during this time, so we decided to showcase the six famous Tudor Queens (wives of King Henry VIII), and create a collection of four products for each Queen, and four products for King Henry VIII. For this, and unable to find any personal information on the Queens and their beauty regimes, we highlighted their likes of different fruits, herbs and foods, and chose ingredients with some connection to this. The 28 products in this Collection used plant ingredients sourced with difficulty, mostly from England which was popular during the Tudor era, such as Eyebright, Elderflower, Honeysuckle, Quince, Pomegranate, Rose, Sandalwood and Valerian.
